Tri County Area Schools hosted a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 to open its new Elementary School, consolidating the schools in the district to one campus. Tri County Elementary will unite students from Sand Lake Elementary and MacNaughton Elementary.
Here are some fun facts about the new school:
The main corridors are named after the Tri County Area: Montcalm, Newaygo, & Kent Counties.
75,000 cubic yards of soil were moved on the 21-acre site.
The cafeteria mural represents the four seasons.
The size of the new elementary is 90,000 sf.
There are 7.6 million pounds of masonry blocks and brick used in the building.
